Downtown to Light Up on December 10

At 5:15 p.m. on December 10th, Mayor Meeker and Ron Day, chair of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, will hit the switch on 40,000 holiday lights from the base of the RBC Tower on Fayetteville Street. Afterwards, at 6:00 p.m., the tree at the State Capitol will be lit.

Glad to see the city is waiting until after Thanksgiving to do this, rather than two weeks before like the Christmas Parade.

There will also be Victorian carolers and free horse-drawn carriage rides.

So the 40,000 lights in front of RBC will ... light up the building?  Are they colored or are we just going to have a glowing skyscraper?

I think they should light that sucker up year round ... Progress Energy agrees with me and will be happy to send the bill to Canada.  wink

I think he is referring to the street lights
