Meet Hargett

Hargett was found this morning walking down the middle of Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh. She is spending her day at the police desk in hopes someone will claim her or want to take her home. She looks to be a lab mix and about 6-8 weeks old. Hargett seems to be in good shape and wants lots of love.

Meet Harrington

This dignified tuxedo kitty was found living in less than dignified accommodations off of Harrington Street—a gutter, to be exact. A resident of the West condo building nearby started feeding him, thinking that he was feral, but soon found that Harrington was as starved for attention as he was for food. Harrington is around 5-8 years old, is very active, inquisitive and well-mannered. He is an excellent conversationalist with humans but prefers to avoid other cats.
Harrington’s condition (losing hair due to malnutrition) likely means that he was on the street for at least months, if not longer. But, he definitely had a real home at one time, given his friendly nature and the fact that he was already neutered. He has since been brought up-to-date on his vaccines and tested negative for both felv and fiv. He has also returned to a healthy weight and his coat is healthy again.
Do you have room for this sweet gentleman in your home? If so, please contact Amy Amra at 919-599-7984 or amy.maurice@gmail.com
Should no one jump to the rescue, please try to get both to a no kill shelter like Second Chance Pet Adoptions.
We’ve adopted through Second Chance and can attest to their remarkable work.
I wish I could help, but I just adopted my own cat who is a handful. I`m sending this to my friend though, she’s looking for a cat. I hope things have a happy ending for Hargett and Harrington!
Boy I tell you what, if we didn’t already have two rescue “puppies” (including one big boy by the name of Tank) here at home… love those faces!
Don’t worry Michael, they will go to no-kill shelters/foster networks if we can’t find a home. Actually, Harrington is temporarily with Best Friend Pet Adoption (www.bfpa.org)—but all the shelters and foster networks seem to be at capacity, so he is living in a shed in the backyard of a foster family’s home. It is better than the gutter, especially given these heavy rains, but hopefully he can find a more permanent home.
my boss is the co-founder of paw prints…. another rescue organization. if you cannot find homes for theses animals, please contact paw prints, and they will find a home for them for sure:
