Mema’s Biscuits aka The Biscuit Station To Close Saturday

Better make a biscuit run because this Raleigh landmark ends its twenty year run on Saturday, October 31. In typical Biscuit Station style, the news was scribbled on a homemade sign. I’m so upset. I need that recipe. A lot of folks are going to be left with a serious biscuit jones. There is a hole in my heart and it is biscuit shaped :(

I wish them all the best and I hope everyone is healthy and financially secure.  Having said that, I went once and didn’t think it was particularly good, it was relatively expensive, no one was all that nice, and the building is about to fall in on itself.  Looking forward, if I could blink my eyes and have a genie grant a wish it would be for the building to be renovated to showcase it’s historic charm and for Oakwood Cafe to move across the street and add lots of outside dining a la Mellow Mushroom.  There’s some space…

So, does this mean they will still serve Saturday morning?  I’d like to go there one more time & can’t make it today.

Hopefully the building will be restored and it will become something else.  But in that location, I dont see that happening for a while.
