Monotonix Playing Kings on Thursday on Their Last Tour Ever

We've always had the joke at New Raleigh that Monotonix should just move to the area and start a musical residency at some local bar. Over the past few years, they've come through town a half dozen times and each time leave behind a path of audial and physical destruction. (Did you see the drums on fire at Cat's Cradle?) The joke extended recently to the fact that Javelin had become the new Monotonix in the Raleigh area by playing the city at least 3 times within the span of one year.

Then, it was announced that Monotonix was coming back to Kings Barcade this Thursday February 3rd. We laughed and said "Of course they are. Now they'll just destroy Kings." Considering how often Monotonix has come to the area, we wrote the show off as 'meh, we'll catch them next time.'

Then, the unlikely happened today. The website One Thirty BPM announced that Ami Shelev, lead singer and stripper of the band, stated that this tour will be their last. Our eyes opened and realized, oh man, this may be your last chance to see a great live show.

That said, drop what you are doing on Thursday night and go see Shelev and crew destroy Kings Barcade. It's worth the few dollars to get in to see the (duo errrrrr) Trio play their last show in Raleigh (unless no touring actually means they are setting up that residency at a Raleigh venue?).

Update: Karen Mann has a quote from their PR saying they are focusing on their families.
