Monotonix are back and will once again destroy The Pour House. The Israeli band frequently comes through the Raleigh area and loves to burn themselves into your memory, tearing apart everything in their path. Slim’s has been a victim. Cat’s Cradle has been a victim. As has The Pour House, almost exactly one year ago. Expect fire, water bottles, climbing singers, floating drummers and all out chaos. Not to be missed if you’ve never seen these guys. The double high space at The Pour House will make the night doubly destructive.
Monotonix will be promoting their new album, Where Were You When it Happened, which has one of the most telling album covers of the year.
Turbo Fruits from Nashville and local noise engineers Whatever Brains open. And with Bronzed Chorus playing Local Beer Local Band next door, Blount Street will be full of sound on Thursday night.

Maybe the Pour House should move “Mug Night” to Thursday night…to help with the broken glass situation…that kinda sucked last year…
So, grown-ups actually DO go to these shows? And it is GOOD when a venue gets “detroyed” by these guys? I guess if the venue doesn’t care it must be lucrative for them. Have fun everyone! Maybe I will sit lonely and safe at home and watch videos on the internet of crazed street riots from the past 50 years instead.
Sounds like someone hates rock and roll.
micah, you sound like you’d be a lot of fun at parties.
Thanks, Dan! Actually, you are right. I LOVE parties, and I can be quite entertaining to all. I used to have at least 2 a week at my house, mostly late-nights, for several years. Quite a few of them turned out to be pretty big blow-outs with 5 bins of recycling and two hours cleaning the next day. They were tons of fun, but the fun would end if anyone set anything on fire or purposely broke anything or otherwise acted douchey. This is obviously just not my scene. To each his own!
FWIW, I’ve seen Monotonix a half dozen times and I’ve never seen them break stuff on purpose. A few glasses or a cheap vocal mic might be casualties of the spectacle, but they don’t run around breaking shit for fun.
This will be my third time seeing the Monotonix…last year, the lead singer took my glass right out of my hand and threw it on the floor…it was funny…but set me back $4.50….i guess i should have asked him to buy me a drink…
they put on an awesome show regardless… :o)
I saw these crazy bastards at Kings a few years back. Awesome show!
