As mentioned previously, a pale ale, golden ale, and winter “warmer” have been brewed at the long awaited pub and restaurant. In the past few weeks, Bitter, Porter, and Stout beers have been fermenting and will be moved to the cold room soon. That concludes the list of the six initial beers (still without names) that will be available on opening day…which should be soon.
Boylan Bridge Brewpub are going to have growlers for sale and after returning from Burlington, Vermont, where growlers at brewpubs are as popular as six packs of beer at the grocery store, this will be a fabulous addition to downtown. I visted both Portland and Burlington in 2008 and both cities have an affinity for their local beers and brewpubs. The Triangle has a handful of these but it would be nice to have more in Raleigh. There’s something nice about being able to fill a growler up for $7 with a local beer and not waste 6 glass bottles each time. And when you’re finished with the growler bottle, just take it back…you’ll get your $2 back and the brewpub will reuse the bottle. Let’s hope this will be the case at BBB.
