Morrissey Coming to Durham Performing Arts Center

Durham’s Performing Arts Center keeps outdoing itself by booking amazing shows. The latest is Morrissey and tickets for this one will go fast.

I saw him 2 years ago at House of Blues to a packed house and it was a phenomenal show. He took off his shirt 3 or 4 times, each a different color, and threw them into the audience, all in front of a huge banner with a multiplicity of James Dean images.

His new album Years of Refusal comes out on February 16, 2009.

Gee, never thought I’d see the day that Morrissey would come anywhere in the Triangle. What a great show to see—a living legend. I hope the performing arts center sells out!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Im so stoked.  Hope I can snag a ticket or 2.

I saw him at the Disco Rodeo once. It was awesome.

This cracks me up. A few weeks back a guy in Durham was mouthing off about how he hated the Carolina Theater because it hosted the Gay and Lesbian film festival. He had great hopes for the Durham Performing Arts Center booking family entertainment that won’t have anything to do with “those homosexuals.”

And now here comes Morrisey. Guess he’ll have to find a new venue to host his Sean Hannity dreams.

Maybe this venue will finally bring the New York Dolls, Iggy and the Stooges and X tours to the area.

No sign of the presale yet.

    Presale was yesterday.

Just an FYI. Tix are currently available at the above link…but you also have to pre-order the Years of Refusal album thru iTunes for $9.99.

  • Jonathan12/18 02:15 PM

The $9.99 is included in the ticket price, so you will still be paying the ticket prices listed above (and that damn Ticketmaster “convenience” fee).

  • Jonathan12/18 02:19 PM

Ignore my above post.  I just got to the checkout page and you DO have to pay an addition $9.99.

    Bummer.

  • Seann12/18 05:27 PM

Got my tickets!  ....and an album I can’t listen to for another 2 months :\

  • G12/19 01:46 PM

For the love of everything holy, can someone please just list how much the tickets are? Please? Ticketmaster.com is the biggest goddamned digital cluster fuck on the planet.

  • Jedidiah12/19 02:17 PM

The ticket prices are and have always been in this article.

Ticketmaster is going to be a minor demon compared to the Satanic ticket system Live Nation shall be unleashing (including kiosks in Blockbuster).

  • G12/19 03:11 PM

Sorry, I really should not type when angered:)

Oh, and thanks for the breakdown!
