This Friday, July 25th Hargett Street in front of the Raleigh Times is going to be blocked off for the first event of the new Fourth Friday Downtown Jams. The monthly block party will feature different artists ranging from Jazz and Blues to Reggae and Afrobeat. This free event on Friday kicks off with an open blues jam with the Swamp Doctors. Musicians are encouraged to bring their instrument of choice to jam with the band from 5 - 8pm. Things will continue on with a set from Frank’s Garage from 8 - 10pm.
The monthly Fourth Friday sessions, presented by 88.9FM WSHA and the popular Raleigh Times Bar, will alternate between Hargett Street outside the Raleigh Times Bar and The Pit.
If you’re trying to have a post-work week beverage in the street while checking out some early evening music—then definitely step over to Hargett Street on this Friday, July 25th. This monthly block party should be invigorating for downtown nightlife and with a strong turnout will hopefully turn into a staple event.
