Nancy McFarlane's first television commercial surfaced on YouTube last week. The video is narrated by McFarlane and reviews her life in Raleigh, her business and her vision of success: "I will make sure to continue the responsible growth and careful planning that attracts jobs. So we can make sure Raleigh stays, well, Raleigh."
Billie Redmond's advertisment sits in decided contrast to McFarlane's using a professional voice actor focusing almost soley on job creation and Redmond's business experience. Ending on a message of "The best way to insure Raleigh's future is by creating jobs and growing our local economy."
Randall william's does not have an advertisment availible.

Nancy McFarlane Billie Redmond Elections 2011 Mayor Election Raleigh Mayoral Elections
I would hardly say employing realtors is job creation. Realtors are partly to blame for the housing crisis. voting for McFarlane.
Baby gurl McFarlane for mayor!
I would hardly say having just a successful business qualifies for a council position. A city council, for an area ranked as one of Forbes Magazines top cities, should have more executive board experience.
Please tell me there’s an option C?
Both McFarland and Redmond are entrepreneurs and business people. I am left wondering why Redmond mentions the schools like she and the council would be able to tell the school board what to do for Raleigh.
Compared to other cities in NC and the US, Raleigh seems to be in great shape and nearly as well as it ever has been. McFarland has not advocated tax increases which is nice during these times. The school board will sock it to us with the new construction for the new assignment plans and all the new required construction the next 10 years.
As an undecided voter, I have to say that neither ad is very good. Myself, I’m looking forward to the Randall Williams ad in which he re-enacts scenes from “Dumb and Dumber” (as the Jeff Daniels character, obviously.)
