I don’t think we’ve ever posted about anything happening over in Morrisville, but this seems like a great event that will hopefully get bigger in the next few years and move to a larger venue in the Oak City.

The North Carolina Comicon will be exploding on the Morrisville Outlet Mall this weekend (November 13th & 14th). The guest list includes Jim Valentino (Artist, Publisher, Shadowhawk, A Touch of Silver), Tommy Lee Edwards (Artist, Marvel’s 1985 ,Bullet Points), Bernard Chang (Artist, Wonder Woman, Superman), Chris Giarrusso (Artist, Mini-Marvels, G-man), Brian Clevinger (Writer, Atomic Robo, Avengers & the Infinity Gauntlet) among many others.

A full line of local retailers, small press publishers and artists will be on deck as well. Costume contests, panels and all-around fanboy tomfoolery will be sure to keep your eyebrows raised. Make sure you stop by their website to check out all of the latest additions to the exhibitor and guest lists, panel schedule, Con News and more! Some local artists will have some work on display as well. The Raleigh Zombie print below is by Sean Kernick.

I love that a large comic con is finally happening here and hope that it only gets bigger over time. However, i wish it wasn’t totally mainstream & superhero oriented. It would be nice to have some more interesting small press comics represented. If only Chapel Hill Comics were the organizer.
