The fair's opening weekend had thick crowds despite clouds on Saturday. All of the typical accouterments were there to remind you of childhood fair trips. This year added the fair's Green NC building, a showcase of eco-friendly technologies developed and implemented around NC. See Below for pics of Green NC, Fair Food, Animals, and more.

The classic turkey leg, and its chef showing off flambe style. Chef's D'lites is an all star fry king of the fair, with a huge line and specialty fried fruits and mac & cheese. On the last row we see the other fry rival, beside the arena entrance, and the fabled Baklava of the South.

Isn’t the “Hit in 2000” ride really the Himalaya, or sometimes the Music Express? Hit in 2000 is a really dumb name.
