NC State - NCAA Championship 25th Anniversary

image“Trees will tap dance, elephants will drive in the Indianapolis 500 and Orson Welles will skip breakfast, lunch and dinner before NC State figures out a way to beat Houston.“  That was Dave Kindred’s quote in the Washington Post on the day of the 1983 NCAA Championship game.  Little did he know that 25 years later, Raleigh would be celebrating that miracle day in grand fashion.  Last Friday, April 4th, was the proper anniversary of the miracle game (and it was relived on ESPN Classic), but this weekend will be a full-on celebration to relive the magic in Downtown Raleigh.

On Saturday, April 12th at 1pm the Raleigh City Museum will host a “Cardiac Pack” panel discussion (including a handful of the players listed below) and afterwards the group will move to The Pit BBQ Restaurant and watch the entire Championship game.  Cheer for the Pack and eat some tasty pork too!

I guess Orson wasn’t hungry that day.
