Last night’s Pink Beats was a smashing success - success meaning that none of the girls spilled drinks on my c.d. players, and we raised $150 dollars for an ambiguous charity. Unfortunately, the folks at the Susan G. Komen Foundation did not respond to my e-mails, and the folks at Sisko, a local breast cancer foundation were not interested in providing me with any material to pass out during the show. The irony is that even after I sent out e-mails and posted a bulletin on MySpace telling folks this was not a fundraiser we still took in the $150. After conversation with Nicole Stewart of the NC Conservation Network and Annie Nice (general maager of Tir Na Nog) we decided that The Women’s Center in downtown Raleigh would be the best recipient for the funds collected last night. We also decided to collect donations every Sunday from now until Thanksgiving, and give it to The Women’s Center all at once. They are in immediate need of financial assistance, and are right on the corner from the Irish pub. However I really appreciated the generousity of my Neu Romance peeps, willing to give regardless of the cause. Thank you, and stay tuned for Pink Beats VI coming soon!

That is too cool Chico.  Let us know about your next event and we will try and help get some more folks out there.
