New Raleigh favorites Megafaun are back in 2010 with a new mini-LP called Heretofore, which is six songs in 36 minutes, including a 13 minute instrumental piece, this summer. The album will be released on the Portland, OR label Hometapes that released the stellar Gather, Form and Fly in 2009.
A beautiful debut track, called Volunteers, from the LP has started spreading around the blogs. The track is perfectly timed as a fabulous Spring jam, especially with these lyrics:
“Sunlight, silhouettes, and dogwood trees. Swayin’ all alone in the Carolina breeze. I ask for your hand and you ask for a plea. Tell me now girl, do I stay or do I leave….”

Megafaun are on tour now across the Western part of the US and will end up back home at the Cradle with Mount Moriah on May 7th.
