New Raleigh Cherry Bounce Showcase Friday at Berkeley Cafe

UPDATE: Our Secret Band has canceled. Everything else is the same.

 

New Raleigh will be hosting a Cherry Bounce Showcase on Friday night at Berkeley Cafe on W. Martin Street. The lineup has changed just a bit in the past few days (The Infamous Sugar is sick and will not be able to play) but one thing is still the same, it will be one rocking night full of music.

Doors will open at 9pm with DJ Gonzo spinning until the first band, Colossus rears their guitar god heads and thrash the stage. I would hate to be any band that has to follow this opening act. But, A Rooster for the Masses will try to do just that. Rooster gathered a large crowd on Cooke Street this past Saturday for a very short set but Friday night at Berkeley will be prime time. Expect a handful of new songs that continue the groovy rock texture that the band is known for. DJ Gonzo will keep the music going between bands and The T's will bring their rugged rock 'n roll to the stage as the last (scheduled) act.

But wait....you might want to stay until after The T's set because their might just be a surprise Super Group taking the stage. A band you have probably never seen live and this may be your only chance for a while. It's almost like Raleigh Undercover all over again.

Mr. Grayson Currin over at the Indy had his say about the show in this week's paper and while the follow description says a lot about the evening, he didn't know about the mystery band coming on at 1am, so, I mean.....Mr. Currin, you just wait. You want "barely in control"? Stay until 1am. Lubrication of the brain will be needed, sir.

And if you want to keep your rowdiness indoors, you might never find a better excuse than Friday night's Berkeley Cafe show: A Rooster for the Masses, Colossus, The T's (with a new drummer) and The Infamous Sugar join for a bill that's bound to be a black hole for a wild weekend—loud, lubricated and barely in control.
