Finally!  I love the Times and go there often, but it was definitely time to introduce some new options into the menu.  One reason we started going to other places like the Oxford is that the Times became same old, same old.

Pork Nachos are awesome!  Chimichurri braised ribs should be interesting.  Dont know if they had the wilted salad but I want to try that too.

Does anyone else think that their Corned Beef taste just like pot roast?  Or did a rookie cure the batch I had?  The sandwich was good just not Corned Beefy enough.

Yes!  I never cared for the reuben, it does taste like rosemary pot roast.  Fried pickles are the best I’ve ever had though.

Glad they’re adding stuff.  I still wish they had some better vegetarian selections, though.

I don’t see the “rule” that bar food is only available after 5.  Is this just a dinner menu, or has my wish been answered????

The last few times I’ve eaten there I haven’t been too impressed, mostly b/c the service or food temperature was off, but the new additions sound delish.

Damn!  I was just there Saturday and someone I was with got the calamari with the maple syrup cooked into it.  I tasted it and it was great so I said I would get it next time.  Now it’s gone.  Oh well!

Hopefully no one stole the menus when they got robbed today.

I love their food but second the call for more vegetarian options (especially since their veggie burger scares me with its meatiness). An easy one would be a vegetarian version of the BLT using fakin’ bacon. Yum.

Well, an inside source told me tonight that someone came in during lunch and ran upstairs and took some money out of the office and ran out.  Apparently they chased the guy down and caught him.  I’m not sure if you call that a robbery or not…Maybe a burglary?

Robbery = the unlawful taking of something of value from a person by force or threat of force.

Burglary = the forcible entry of a structure with intent of theft.

Larceny (petty or grand) = the unlawful taking of something of value, but not involving unlawful/forcible entry or threat of personal harm.

If someone comes in the building lawfully, grabs something of value unlawfully and runs out, that’s larceny.

I LOVE their veggie burger, it’s the best in town.  I’m glad it is still on the menu.  I’m on the only one who thinks their prices are on the high side?

I think there reuben rocks.  Different, yes, but great.  When food tastes great, I tend not to care about how semantically accurate it is.

Went there just by chance Thursday night and had the hangar steak. It was delicious - the fried green beans that came with it were also very, very good. But I couldn’t get too excited about the tomato-cucumber salad - there wasn’t anything WRONG with it, it was just pretty run of the mill.

My companion had the blacken[ed] salmon - she said overall it was good, but the entire dish was kind of salty and she didn’t like the creme fraiche at all.

Look forward to trying out the new menu…although when I was there the other month the waitress spilled an ENTIRE tray of beers all over my husband by accident while we were eating our dinner so he’s a little anti-Raleigh Times at the moment and I haven’t been able to fulfill my pork nacho craving.  We were really nice about the whole situation, but the waitress didn’t even offer a free beer or anything to make-up for completely soaking him…I’ve never expected much out of the service there (I suppose it’s just part of RT’s “personality”), but that was just ridiculous!

There was a restaurant in this same area, maybe even the same building, about 10 years ago, called Hunter’s. They had the most awesome thing ever, a turkey reuben, with their own roasted turkey slices, and their own slaw situation (which was a bit crunchy). Somebody ought to be making this sandwich!

pork nachos pork nachos pork nachos.  As far as I can tell and tried at RT it’s the one good thing on the menu that is RT’s creation.  It’s not that the other food is bad or doesn’t taste good it’s that you can get much better food, service, and prices.  Especially beer prices!  Not really a place to get a good drink on with a budget.  Only one true complaint about the food quality is the burger, nothing special not even sure they grind their meat in house but if I am going to buy a $10 bacon cheeseburger and I get no fries oh wait I can pay almost $3 more for fries so now I am having a burger plate(like everywhere else in town) for $13 and another $4 for a beer it’s kinda not really working.  But like I said that’s the only complaint.  If your looking for a great server ask for Allison or Alli not sure what her name was a petite red haired girl was awesome and has taken great care of us the last two times and I will always ask for her.  Now let’s hope for no snow so I can try those ribs Monday.

We were here two weeks ago, and I still can’t get over the immense quantity of balsamic marinated chicken in their Greek salad (chickedn was extra but worth the taste and portion).  This was a dinner salad that lasted for two days, impossible to eat in one sitting!  Also, the chicken-fried pickles are exquisite.
