Two bands, one from Chapel Hill and one from Greensboro, but both very familiar with the Raleigh area have released new music videos. One investigates life and death in black and white while the other is a sepia toned flick called Weddings.
Bombadil - So Many Ways to Die
The Bombadil video for releases their single “So Many Ways to Die” off of their 2009 album Tarpits and Canyonlands is actually their first music video. It is a compilation of public domain footage and to quote the guys from Bombadil, the video is “all the ways to live and die in 4:52, including shipwreck, skyscraper rollerskating, and improvised jetpack mishap.”
Citified - “Weddings”
Video directed by Dave Liberstein.
In contrast, the Citified video for “Weddings”, off of their 2008 release The Meeting After The Meeting (Eskimo Kiss Records) is a bit more personable. The sepia toned video fades between shots of the band playing the song outside and lyrically literal imagery.
