No DXR in 2008

Design Expo Raleigh (DXR) began in 2006 to showcase local design talent in architecture, industrial design, and graphic design. The catalog for the 2007 Expo was just released this past Friday at Flanders Gallery, and came with the announcement that the next DXR will be in May of 2009. More importantly, there won’t be an Expo in 2008.

That’s disappointing, but not unexpected considering that we haven’t heard anything from DXR this year and the 2007 catalog was just recently published. The 2009 Expo will be inside Flanders Gallery, which is a very small space for an exhibition of this size. The 2006 Expo was at the CAM space in the warehouse district, and v.2007 was held in an empty retail space at North Hills.
