The News and Observer is reporting that Taliaferro is throwing in the towel. Looks like the 5-3 majority in the Raleigh City Council has officially taken a 180 swing.

I particularly like the reason that it will save Raleigh money: “which now won’t have to go through a costly runoff election”
Thank you for saving my tax dollars for something more useful, like the park land purchase I’ve been asking the city for over the last 18 months.
