North Carolina Museum of Art Hires Pentagram Design Firm

Pentagram Hired to Rebrand NCMA
The North Carolina Museum of Art has hired the international multi-disciplinary design firm Pentagram to re-develop the museum’s graphic identity. This partnership comes at an exciting time when the museum is in the construction phase of what looks to be a spectacular new addition. Pentagram’s design team will be working with museum directors, architects, and designers to re-design the museum’s logo, signage, and graphic standards.

Pentagram has developed identity programs for many multinational clients such as Citibank, The Whitney Museum of Art, United Airlines, The New York Jets, and The National Botanic Garden of Whales.

The new museum identity will undoubtedly be an exceptional complement to the in-process North Carolina Museum of Art extension by Thomas Phifer and Peter Walker. The new identity will be released along with the opening of the museum extension in 2010. High profile partnerships such as these continue to build the foundation for Raleigh to become an exceptional local, national, and international arts and music hub.

Two short videos give a nice overview about Pentagram:

I mean, it’s not just a graphic design firm, it’s THE graphic design firm! And that we in raleigh could get them for our NCMoA is quite a thing to be psyched about! It really symbolizes Raleigh’s emergence as an important city. This museum is gonna be something special!
