Obama Motorcade in Downtown Raleigh

photos by Chris Johnson and Jedidiah Gant

As we all know by now, President Barack Obama was in Raleigh on Wednesday at Broughton High School speaking about his health care/insurance reform. Obama was introduced by Cupcake Shoppe owner Sara Coleman who gave him a t-shirt of her company, but Obama wanted cupcakes, although he did call The Cupcake Shoppe “The Cupcake Factory”.

Obama gave about a 30 minute speech about health care and then took questions from local residents and small business owners. Afterwards, he zoomed through downtown, on a closed down Dawson and I-40, and we were able to catch him as he passed The Raleigh Convention Center.

Video of Obama’s motorcade on Peace Street.

Video of Obama’s full town hall meeting. (which has some odd WRAL overdub audio during the last question)
