I got this list in an email sometime ago regarding opportunities within the city’s boards and commissions. It seems like a great way to get involved in the policy making that goes down with the city council and at the very least an organized outlet for advice from the city’s residents. It is strictly voluntary and a good friend of mine told me that they can “eat up a lot of time”, but it seems like a good cause.
To apply, you can contact via email through the city’s website the appointing body through your elected officials.
And without further ado, the list of vacancies:
Appearance Commission (appointed by city council) – 4 openings
Arts Commission (appointed by city council) – 2 openings
Board of Adjustment (appointed by city council/county commissioners) – 4

Convention Center Commission – 2 openings
