Overheard: New Downtown Amphitheater Sponsorship
Paramore packed the Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater on Friday night and as the N&O found out, the Paramore Honda Civic T-shirts almost gave the City of Raleigh the sponsorship they have been hoping for. Too bad it was a referral to the Amphitheater’s sister venue just Southwest of here.
In the meantime, name watchers thought they had a clue to what it could be Friday when concert T-shirts at the Paramore show listed Raleigh’s date and venue as “Road Runner Mobile Amphitheater.”
It was a simple mistake, Krupa said. Someone accidentally used the name of a Charlotte amphitheater
.
Ooops! The sponsorship name game continues.

I’m starting to think this whole amphitheater thing is one big, mean joke. “We’re going to build a multi-million dollar amphitheater and book almost nothing but exclusively terrible acts, try to get a sponsor that we know the state government would have to (and probably won’t) change some laws for, and then YOU’RE going to have to foot the bill. LOL, FUCK YOU RALEIGH TAX PAYERS”
