If you know local favorites The Avett Brothers, you probably know Paleface and his band Just About To Burn. If you don’t, tonight is your night. He has written various songs that The Avetts have covered and recorded (featuring Paleface) on their last two albums. He spent time with Daniel Johnston in the late 80s writing songs and then was roommates with Beck in NYC.
A Paleface show in Raleigh seems to have popped up recently and will happen tonight. It is at college staple FarmHouse on Hillsbrough Street, starts at 10pm and costs $5. The music should be worth it, but can’t attest to the venue. The last time I went to or saw a show at FarmHouse was Alli with and I in 2001 and I’m sure things have changed since then. The name has changed a couple times, not sure about the crowd.
