Paramore, Tegan and Sara are First Booked Show at Raleigh Boutique Amphitheater

Paramore, Tegan and Sara are First Booked Show at Raleigh Boutique Amphitheater

Emo/pop punk band Paramore will bring indie twins Tegan and Sara with them to Downtown Raleigh’s Boutique Amphitheatre on July 23rd. The groups are touring as part of the Honda Civic Tour which has included blink-182, Incubus, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Black Eyed Peas and Fallout Boy over the past 10 years.

The Raleigh show will be the first of the tour. More bands should be announced soon but it’s good to see that the City of Raleigh is making good progress on getting shows at the new amphitheater. As mentioned previously, it was rumored that the new Amphitheater was rumored to be opening by May and therefore there may be a few more shows to come, but this is the first to reach the airwaves.

Not that I really care, but when your band starts hawking cars for Honda you aren’t “indie” anymore.

I am just happy they are booking acts.  They are really moving some earth at the location.  Great news on all fronts….I for one thought the city would drag their feet on this a bit and we wouldn’t see any acts until the fall.

Can we go through one post without people bitching. You people need to get out more and enjoy some life. Quit being so negative about everything. When you start a band or build your own amphitheater then you can speak up. Otherwise just be happy that things are happening other than a new season of 16 and pregnant.

Anybody want to do a $10 prop bet on whether or not the word “boutique” will be officially dropped before July 1, 2010.

Aaron: Lost a little of your respect for what? Going on a tour with a large corporate sponsor? Opening for Paramore? Playing in Raleigh?

    Please be specific.

Wow. They’re really calling it that?

I don’t know if I can attend something called a “Boutique Amphitheatre.” That’s so terrible.

Downtown Raleigh Boutique Amphitheatre is the worst name to see a rock show @! Sounds abit Gay Raleigh. How about The Pit or something better than The Boutique!

Ever heard the song Creeping Out Sara by NOFX? That’s about all the exposure I have to Tegan and Sara.

Oh well hey, definitely not for playing in Raleigh. To the new amphitheatre booking acts, I say HELL yeah! But I’m not too fond of seeing Paramore and Tegan & Sara grouped in the same act. Corporate sponsor, eh, I don’t really care that much. But in all seriousness, I’m happy this place is going to have business.

I don’t know which venue is better for OAR between this place and Koka Booth but I guess we will get to see…Glad to see OAR coming back to Raleigh…I don’t care where just keep them coming back.  I would like to see a seating chart or some more info on the “BO”  I agree “Boutique” is cheesy but there is one in Charlotte that is like this with the same title…of all the trends to start…just book good acts..

I like how everyone in Paramore has inter-changeable fashion hair.  Glad that the shows are starting off with some edge, rather than going pure country music.  If I have to hear “honky tonk badonkadonk” bouncing off the buildings in downtown, I’ll move.

I’m excited and looking forward to the concert! Not particularly excited about the current venue name, but it’s not a huge deal to me.

wow who freakin cares what the name of it is? just because its called a boutique ampitheathre doesnt mean that there isn’t some kick ass bands coming to it. if you like the band you’ll go anywhere to see them. if the name of the theatre stops you from going to see a band then you aren’ta true fan. some people are so ridiculous
