While we’re sure there will be, per the norm, amazing First Friday shows this coming Friday, none may match the high-flying excitement and energy that the PBaRt Show & Concert will bring to Designbox. Paul Friedrich and Pabst Blue Ribbon will bring PBR flavored art, a few local bands, Locopops and much more to the lot the back parking lot between Humble Pie and Designbox.
PABST BLUE RIBBON and PAUL FRIEDRICH present: the PBaRt Show & Concert
Local celebrity artist Paul Friedrich has teamed up with the iconic beer company Pabst Blue Ribbon to present North Carolina’s first PBaRt Show at Designbox Gallery on May 7, 2010 from 7pm-11pm.
Friedrich, creator of the Eisner-nominated Onion Head Monster, and PBR have organized 17 of Raleigh’s top Low Def Pop artists in one recession proof exhibit. All artwork is priced $25, $50 or $100 and includes limited edition PBR themed originals.
And, that’s not all: three local bands will play an exclusive outdoor concert while live graffiti artwork is created for additional visual stimulation and eventual silent auction. The Only Burger food truck will be there for the hungry, Locopops ($2), and the Carolina Hurricanes Storm Squad for fun. Speaking of fun, there will also be a retro photo booth—free for First Friday art enthusiasts.
Admission is free. Arrive early to gaurantee entry . A suggested $3-5 donation will be greatly appreciated and accepted on behalf of the Visual Art Exchange [501(c)3] and SPARKcon.

” 17 of Raleigh’s top Low Def Pop artists” ?
is there an 18th one ? how many “low def pop artists” are there in this burgeoning metropolis????
@instigator. there are 29 ldpa’s in raleigh. that’s 8 more than altanta, which only has 21. we are up 5 over last year when we only had 24, and that is still more than atlanta THIS YEAR.
embrace the fact you are living in the southeast’s most brightly emerging low def pop mecca.
Hell yeah I love Def Leppard that’ll be good show
