Piedmont Laureate Program

laureate: of an excellence, especially in poetry (Merriam-Webster Unabridged)

Four Triangle organizations have announced a new program, the Piedmont Laureate, which is the result of collaboration efforts between the City of Raleigh Arts Commission, Durham Arts Council, Orange County Arts Commission, and United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County. Applications will be limited to poets in our area for the inaugural honor of Piedmont Laureate.

The position has been created in order to promote and recognize literary arts in North Carolina.
