Planning Raleigh 2030: Round Two Starts Tonight
March, 25, 2008 , by David
The City of Raleigh is holding it’s second round of comprehensive plan workshops this week. The workshops are an opportunity for citizens to voice opinions on a variety of topics and raise awareness for issues that may not have been traditionally considered.
Each workshop breaks up attendees into different groups to work on one of the following topics for one hour:
- Expanding Housing Choices — housing for low income residents as well as the issue of housing in general.
- Greenprint of Raleigh — all issues related to promoting ecological and sustainable development practices.
- Economic Prosperity & Equity — Embracing the creative economy is central to Raleigh’s competitive position, while fostering economic prosperity that is broadly shared by households across the city.
- Growing Successful Neighborhoods & Communities — managing growth and change in both established neighborhoods as well as better design and mixed use in new developments.
- Managing Our Growth — city-wide growth management, regional coordination, and sewer and water infrastructure.
- Coordinating Land Use and Transportation — addresses the need to better coordinate land development with transportation investments.
