Sometimes I slip on my civic duty and that certainly happened this week, please excuse the late reminder. Tonight and tomorrow are the second and third of the first set of Planning Raleigh 2030 workshops.
November 14, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
McKimmon Conference and Training Center, NCSU
1101 Gorman Street
November 15, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
North Raleigh Church of Christ
8701 Falls of Neuse Road
If you can make it to the McKimmon center tonight, it will be your chance to participate in shaping Raleigh’s future.
The next phase of the update process will include three visioning workshops, each with a citywide scope and identical content and format, to be held in different parts of the city. The purpose of these workshops is to define a vision for Raleigh’s future. The workshops will also address citywide issues and opportunities. These citywide workshops are not intended to be specific to the area in which they are being held.
If you missed the workshops, city planners have promised that the presentation with an online comment form will be at the plan website ( www.planningraleigh2030.com ) soon.
There are also numerous “stakeholder roundtables” planned—environmentalists, developers, etc. Planning Director Mitchell Silver says that those roundtables will also be open to the public, for observation only.
