Preservation North Carolina presents the Fourth Annual Taste of Downtown Raleigh on Tuesday, May 19 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The event includes a reception and tour of several newly-renovated downtown properties, and participating restaurants will offer “buy one entrée, get one free” immediately following the event.
The Taste of Downtown Raleigh supports Preservation NC’s statewide work to save endangered historic properties and celebrates downtown Raleigh’s continuing revitalization. Tickets are $25 for PNC members and $35 for non-members (price includes a one year PNC membership). For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the PNC website
Highlights of the Tour include:
- The Carolina Trust Building (basement, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th floors open)
- The Mahler Building (reception held in the 1st floor art gallery; all floors including the upper story condos will be open for touring; Carter Worthy, Greg Paul, and Meg McLaurin will be in attendance to discuss the renovation project)
- Foundation Bar (new basement-level bar with great interior features located across the street from the other featured properties next to The Mint Restaurant; Will Alphin will speak to guests about the renovations of that space)
- Briggs Hardware Building (all floors open; tour PNC headquarters’ building, see available office space for lease, and take in a short picture show of before-and-after images of PNC’s work; the Briggs Building was the first renovation on the 200 block of Fayetteville Street, completed in 1998 by Preservation North Carolina in partnership with the A.J. Fletcher Foundation.)
