Next Saturday, October 11, the vintage furniture shop and art gallery, Purple Armchair, will host a gala fundraiser called “CHAIRity” at their store on West Street.
Recycled chairs from Habitat/Wake’s ReStore Center in Raleigh, reinvented by over 50 Triangle artists, currently dot the downtown landscape, appearing at nearly two dozen Raleigh businesses, including Helios, Turkish Delight, Hard Times, Humble Pie, and The Morning Times, where Paul Friedrich’s chair joins his existing exhibit.
At the gala the chairs will be auctioned off, starting as low as $50. Proceeds will go to Habitat/Wake and participating artists.
The event will run from 7:00-11:00 p.m. and include live music and catering by Margaux’s and Humble Pie. It is free and open to the public.
