Raleigh and Charlotte Tea Party Rallies Featured on MSNBC Countdown

I’m officially done with New Raleigh site.  I’ve said this for a long time and so have others…I look for NR to tell me about things going on in DTR (bands, new bars, various happening), but it bothers me that it is now becoming a liberal only political spot more and more.

No I am not a liberal, but I don’t have any issue with sites being dedicated / support liberal thinking, but I don’t need it mixed into me looking for the happenings of our great city.

Perhaps I don’t know the intent / purpose of NR and maybe that is my own fault.

I think I’ll look else where for my DTR happenings now.

well, there were quite a few people at the tea party protest on april 15th at the capital, so don’t mistake this recent turn out for a lack of teabaggin’ in nc.  still funny though.

oh and michael: sorry but that’s just the way it goes, pal.  every alt weekly and blog dedicated to downtown culture inevitably has a left/lib leaning.  the event *did* happen in raleigh (or at least 1/2 of it), so its not like its an open letter or op-ed or something with no relevance to the city.  and looking at the surrounding articles, i see a whole lot about restaurants and art and whatnot, so just pass over the political stuff if its going to get you riled up.

I believe this video Keith Olbermann is using is from a tea party held in the middle of last summer(2009). The only tea party I remember being on Halifax Mall was last summer and it was about 95 degrees that day.  Why did he not use video from the tea party held at the Capitol on April 15th, 2010.  Answer…because there were about 1500 people there and it did not serve his purpose.  Olbermann is such an idiot.

yet the publicity from various Tea Party groups claim this May event had nearly 1,000 people for the ring around the General Assembly.

Far as why they didn’t show the more attended rally, not every news network can be Fox News and just run the wrong footage for events if it doesn’t fit the narrative demanded by Roger Ailes.

Ultimately this shows how if the Popes aren’t sponsoring a tea party event - they don’t get real support. And I saw more than 1,500 at a gay pride parade in Durham. Does that mean they’re a bigger movement in the state than this teabag set?

I don’t know what corey3rd’s obbession is with the Popes.  I haved been to two tea parties at the Capitol.  This past April 15th where there were about 1500 people and last year where there were about 2500 people.  Neither time did was there food present.
