After reading a bit about the Southern Ideal Home Show - Green Building Pavilion that was on display this past weekend, which I knew nothing about, I luckily discovered on the NCSEA’s Website that there will be a Green Bulding and Solar Tour of Raleigh buildings on Saturday October 6, 2007.
Raleigh Area Green Building and Solar Tour
Saturday, October 6, 2007
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
The Raleigh Area Green Building and Solar Tour will feature homes throughout Wake County showcasing examples of renewable energy, energy efficiency and green building techniques in residential, commercial, state and local government buildings. Some technologies include: passive and active solar, grey water use, rainwater catchment, geothermal, resource efficiency, fresh air ventilation, daylighting, xeriscaping and much more!
The tour is a valuable because it educates citizens with the most up to date information on a wide range of green building solutions and technologies, available all across our state. The education and outreach that tour provides, helps bring together dozens of communities on energy efficiency and renewable energy and how energy affects their everyday lives. By learning about green building applications, citizens begin to realize that they have an opportunity to implement these solutions in their homes and offices.
Once you register for the tour, a detailed map with sites, technologies, directions and pictures will be emailed to you by October 4th so you can begin your planning.
The cost of the tour is $15.00 per carload, $10.00 per individual, or $5.00 for all NCSEA members. To take advantage of the NCSEA member discount, sign up for membership today.
The community organizer is NCSEA and all questions or media inquiries can be emailed to .
