Raleigh Tops National TV Ratings for Inauguration

Triangle Business Journal is reporting that the Triangle had the highest national television ratings for the Inauguration. Snowbama day gives Raleigh residents a chance to watch and it shows. Thanks snow!

According to The Nielsen Co., which tracks TV ratings, more than 51 percent of TV households in Raleigh-Durham were tuned into the inauguration of the 44th president on Tuesday. The Triangle even beat the Washington, D.C., area, which had 47.7 percent of its households tuned in.

    Might this have anything to do with several inches of snow on the ground?  I wouldn’t have been able to watch it live if I had gone in to work.

    Yes, Micah. And this was mentioned by Jedidiah who talked about “Snowbama day” and said “Thanks Snow!” in the article. I am one of the many beneficiaries of the snow day, which allowed me work from home and watch the coverage live. What outstanding timing for a snow storm. smile
