The Contemporary Modernist house on Lake Boone Trail is up for sale again. At an asking price of $950,000 it’s up for debate as to just how quickly this piece of recent Modernism will exchange hands.
It was brought out in the discussion after our previous article that the house was once listed as an attempt to “cash in” on the inside-the-beltline teardown phenomenon. The delicately balanced composition of steel, glass, and wood sits on a significant slope nestled among the trees, and is unapologetically luxurious in both scale and finish for the neighborhood. The challenges that designers Jessica Johnson Moore and Chad Everhart faced in dealing with the steeply sloped site may be dwarfed by the challenges the realtor faces in trying to sell this nearly million-dollar house in the midst of the current financial crisis. Many of you have been so kind and gracious with your comments about the house and we have enjoyed sharing it with so many on numerous tours over the past few years.
