One thing you can count on from the local music community is its willingness to organize and rock out for one of their own. Earlier this month, several bands played to help out Snuzz. On Sept. 27, several more will hold a day-long benefit for bass player/punk rock icon Tom Cushman, who spent most of August in the intensive care unit at UNC Hospital with an extremely severe case of pneumonia. As you might expect, he’s now saddled with thousands in medical bills.
The concert, dubbed the “TCB Concert” boasts a stellar line-up: Gringo, The Trousers, Richard Bacchus & the Luckiest Girls, Caitlin Cary, Kenny Roby, The Infamous Sugar, Bleeding Hearts, Man Will Destroy Himself, Rocket Cottage, The T’s and Sea Leg. It’s scheduled for Sept. 27 at White Collar Crime. It starts at 3 p.m. and the suggested donation is $10. Learn more on the Facebook group.
