Raleigh The Most Political City in the US

Hey whatya know, another list and another #1 ranking for Raleigh. This time it is Most Political US City voted on by Men’s Health Magazine with Montgomery, Alabama coming in second. Last week it was “Best Performing Cities of 2008” in which Raleigh excelled.

What have you seen in this election year?  In the past few years? Does Raleigh deserve this political ranking to you? This is what Downtown Raleigh looked like on the day of the NC Primaries.  What will November 4th look like in the Capital City?

Raleigh also ranked (which factored into Raleigh’s #1 Overall Ranking) -

7th in Primaries (Highest percentage of registrants who voted in the 2008 primaries)
8th in Senate (Highest percentage of votes in the 2004/2006 Senate election)
4th in Governor (Highest percentage of voters in the 2004-2007 gubernatorial election)

I’m really surprised we’re number one.  And that Greensboro is number six.  I know I’m very informed but I didn’t know our city as a whole was so active compared to others.  But if it means we’re gonna flip the state this year, I’ll take it!!!
