Beginning at 11:30 a.m., the Raleigh Times will have an all-day celebration to welcome Obama to the White House. There will be tons of commemorative pieces to give away, including Obama Times pint glasses and coasters. There will also be 2 drawings, one in the day and one in the evening for a 24”x36” framed Obama hope poster. They will also have several prints of the Raleigh Times menu he signed, and have the pint glass he drank from on display for fun. And, of course, TV coverage will be playing on all the screens.

The festivities WILL start at 11:30am, when The Times opens up! Come out, come all!
I wonder if anyone else has been avoiding patronizing the Raleigh Times since they went all partisan.
It was a good place to meet up with friends, get some great food, and enjoy a cold beer. A place to escape from the politics. But that ended awhile ago. I thought it would have ended after the election, but no.
I’m sorry to have to break up with the Raleigh Times but I’d rather go somewhere that’s not going to ram the owner’s political dogma in my face.
Agree, Magnus!!!
Amen Magnus! That obama bat light and obama times posters made me avoid all of empire eats in that area. Great places, but no need for that BS.
I was at the times for lunch the other day and all i noticed was a framed picture of Obama from when he was there, that was it….i certainly didnt feel anything else was being shoved down my throat….Obama visited their establishment, he is the now the President of the United States of America, thats sort of a big deal…Joaner, I am sure they wont miss your business to be honest, I think their support of Obama actually increased their popularity and business…
I enjoy that a local businessman has the balls to ignore the trend of keeping your business “neutral” politically. Today’s big corporations to operate stores and restaurants very rarely make any political statements, and nearly all are employees and agents of the companies are expressly forbidden from doing so. The good thing about being a local business is that you can express whatever opinion you want. This isn’t common (even with small business) anymore, but it used to be quite the norm. I applaud Hatem for allowing the Raleigh Times to have a political affiliation. If you don’t like it, then you can either agree to disagree, or go somewhere else. The Raleigh Times will be OK.
