Raleigh Wars Starts August 1st

Raleigh Wars is by far one of the coolest homegrown games we have heard of.  So many of us are fond of the occasional game of Gears of War (Hi EPIC!) or Call of Duty on the XBOX or PC and location games are all the rage on your mobile phone.  But really, when was the last time you had warfare simulation in the physical realm?  Flashlight tag is so 8th grade.  For Adults in Raleigh, we present the 5th year of Raleigh Wars. This year, we are all in.

The game is really all about stealth assassination rather than all out war. Register on the Raleigh Wars website and then on Sunday you will be given a name.  This person is your target. Then without breaking laws, or showing up at this person’s workplace, church or other required events (they are safe inside of these buildings, “No kills on the clock basically.”), you must stalk them, and squirt them using an approved self-contained-water-source device like a squirt gun, water balloon, etc.

After you kill your target you inherit their target, and in the end, the man with the most kills wins.  There are many other fun aspects, such as if you haven’t killed anyone by the end of the first week - a “hit squad” comes after you.  All of this is tracked through the Raleigh Wars website.

Finally on August 21 White Collar Crime will host the epically entitled, Assassin’s Ball.  A fancy social event with rivers of free PBR and Jimmy Johns sandwiches (for participants in Raleigh Wars) along with the final assassinations occurring throughout the night.  It is sure to be 3 Musketeers, Dark Knight, levels of mid-party battle action, without the fire, swords, bullets or real danger.

New Raleigh is participating in this year’s Raleigh Wars.  We are hoping to award a prize to the best kill at the Assassin’s Ball.  So in addition to your stalking, we want video of your exploits.  Bring your camera man and capture your elite kills.  We are super-soaked to participate and we expect unfettered brutality as only water wars can allow.

Rivers of “free” PBR apply to registered Assassins and Assassins Ball ticket holders. Tickets will be $10 and you can get them at the door.  White Collar never charges a cover, so you can definitely join us for the fun, but you’ll have to get your drinks at the bar.

HI New Raleigh!  We of course do not condone killing or violence of any sort… except at White Collar crime. Sounds awesome!
