I was just talking with some folks how Raleigh needs more simple pop-in and out restaurants. We have enough of the sit down waiter enterprises and need more quick options to get a meal. One of the newest that fits this is Bada-Bing Pizza on Glenwood South (a new favorite because of its quick service, simple concept, cheap prices and decent pizza). One of the oldest in this model, Roast Grill (aka Hot Wieners) at 7 S. West Street will celebrate its 70th Birthday on Saturday with a Block Party celebration from 11am-4pm. Roast Grill concept is as simple as they come and it shows considering their longevity. Goodnight, Raleigh! has a great profile on them from back in 2008.
So go by tomorrow and get a hot dog, or twelve.
And remember:
NO Ketchup
NO Cheese
NO Mayo
NO Kraut
NO Relish
NO Fries
NO Chips
NO Coffee
NO Hot-tea
NO Iced-tea
NO Sweet-tea
NO Visa-MC-Debits

Best thing about this place is that they have no Ketchup. Ketchup on a hotdog is so ghetto. No kraut is good too, keeps the yankees out of the place.
