Rob Thomas climbing up a corrugated wall?

When reading through one of the most recent Rolling Stones last week, I was surprised to see that:

A: Rob Thomas was still around making music

and

B: his new album (Cradlesong) had a great review.

Then again, it was Rolling Stone, which has slipped in its taste a bit over the years and is a bit more mainstream than other music magazines available today. I haven’t heard the album yet and probably won’t, but I’m sure there are many Matchbox 20 fans still hanging around anxious to see what Thomas has in store for the solo stage. With the resurgence of 90s rock bands (e.g. Downtown Live’s entire lineup), Thomas may get a lot of attendance, but then again the Downtown Live shows are free and this show is $36.

Thomas even seems to be on twitter with 80,000 followers, a Chuck Norris background and very odd tweets, none of which have much substance. ThisisRobThomas (this is indeed the official twitter page of Thomas)

too bad they couldn’t get him for downtown live. perfect fit . . . people that had a moderate hit over a decade ago that no one really wants to see anymore.

What a lazy piece.  “Thomas even seems to be on twitter”.?  And you looked him up on the Rolling Stone site.  Did you even get out of your undies to do your job on this one?  You don’t even know that Rob Thomas has several hit songs off this album and his previous one? And you have no interest in listening to the current album even though it’s gotten a good Rolling Stone review.  How close minded and lazy can you get? Step up your game.
