Raleigh has a flourishing market for handmade goods. The periphery supports a healthy craft economy through staples like the farmers market and flea markets across the city. Downtown, throughout the year, we see craft bazaars that pop up for a Saturday with a mix of designers and then dissipate until the next time. This Saturday brings The Rock & Shop Market, an event held yearly at Tir Na Nog to showcase young artisans with a live soundtrack of local bands. This is the 7th Rock and Shop and will host over 30 designers and bands The Secret Theatre and Red Collar.
A wide array of jewelery, accessory and other craft designers will be in attendance; see the full list here. Some standouts that we are excited about at New Raleigh:
ahpeele has been iterating and innovating on their screen printing process for several years now. The clothing is so layered and work intensive one feels radiant in the bold patterns.

mi scusi handmade has some unique knit items in many forms. Reasonably priced and meticulously crafted, mi scusi is sure to have a nice collection.

Non Fiction Design Collective from Columbus Ohio will present an array of postmodern crafts- forms made through ceramic work and screen printing creating new patterned wares that rival Delft Blue but with a cheeky wink to pop culture.

Metamorphisis Metals has a unique line of hand made jewelry and charms. Inspired by nature the ‘organic’ line is a personal favorite.
The Rock & Shop Market will be held this Saturday from 1-5pm at Tir Na Nog. Admission is $3 and the first 50 Attendees get a free tote bag filled with crafty goodies.
