Almost a month ago we told you that Raleigh’s Annuals, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Colossus, The Love Language, and Patty Hurst Shifter would be playing Austin’s famed South by Southwest festival in March.

SXSW has now published the official schedule on their website, and it appears The Rosebuds will be joining the line-up once again. Other additions include Raleigh’s Lonnie Walker, Durham’s Megafaun and Des Ark, and Chapel Hill’s Valient Thorr, Black Skies, The Moaners and Physics of Meaning.

Patty Hurst Shifter seems to have disappeared from the schedule.

Definitely congrats for these guys for being invited.  I hope they find it worthwhile. I think there was an article in the Indy last year about local bands who played SXSW.  I remember agreeing with whoever was being interviewed saying that bands need to have a buzz going into it to get the most out of it.  There are just so many bands, plus all the unaffiliated events that vie for everyone’s attention. 1300+ miles is a long drive too and EVERYONE playing is trying to book other shows around their showcase date. Tough, but fun if you go into it without too many expectations.
