Sauced Pizza Brings NY-Style Pizza Eatery to Glenwood South

Referring back to our previous post, Glenwood South will soon be home to a NY-style pizza eatery called Sauced Pizza, in what used to be the former Enoteca Vin location. The restaurant plans to open sometime this summer for lunch, dinner, and late night, serving pizza by-the-slice, calzones, salads, and other casual fare, and will have a full bar. Sauced Pizza will also have several big screen TVs for sporting events and will primarily play rock/alternative music. It should be a nice addition to the area. In the meantime, be sure to check out their website.

    Awesome!!

The first thing I thought was “Jumbo Slice.” There are few better drunk foods than cheap pizza. I applaud this.

This caught my eye: “And while last call for alcohol may come at 1:30am, Lombardo and Lam are excited to offer fresh slices well past then for the hungry late-night crowd.”

First thought upon reading that was “NR article coming soon: ‘Condo Residents Annoyed by Vibrant Activity that Lured Them There in the First Place’”

can’t wait, soglo has needed something like this for years

@T-Plain, I too have been waiting for the first grumblings from the new downtown residents. We have been lucky to avoid it so far. But, I wonder if it is because not many people are wanting to move into over priced “luxury” condos.

trifecta!  we finally have the holy trinity of late night snacking completed:  snoopy’s, char-grill and pizza by the slice.

It doesn’t have to be late night, eithere.  Mellow Mushroom stops serving slices after Lunch, but I don’t always want a whole pizza.  Having this as an option is good news.

    (Nice typing, doofus!  That’s “either.”)

What’s up with the “condo” comments?  I live downtown in a condo and I’m very excited to see this coming.  It is quite a few blocks from my area, but I’ll walking over for a slice with no complaints.

Where is all the hate coming from?

Sounds good…could help relieve the crowding at Mellow Mushroom.
    .

Though I’m still a diehard Moonlight fan…hard to find many other non-chains offering shrimp as a topping.  wink
    .

And no one beats Capital Creations for delivery/takeout!

Raleighrob:  Lilys delivers too- thats stiff competition!

I am looking forward to another pizza place to try late night..

What this city really needs is a Neapolitan style pizza place. It is a very different style of pizza that takes it to a higher level than just late night greasy fast food. Wood-burning and gourmet toppings (like the insanely popular and fantastic Punch Pizza in Minneapolis - http://www.punchpizza.com/). Between Mellow Mushroom, Lily’s, Capital Creations and Moonlight we have plenty of standard pizza selections in Raleigh. I’m a little bummed to hear that the Vin location won’t be used in a more creative way.
