Save the Date: Cooke Street Carnival 2010
Advertise on NR

Despite the slightly drab weather, last year inaugural Cooke Street Carnival was a success, donating over 500 pounds of food to the Eastern and Central NC Food Bank and having over 1,000 visitors.

Considering all of the work put into the event so far, this year could be bigger and lots more fun. More info to come but be sure that there will be lots of great local music, food vendors, art, retail vendors, kids entertainment and more. The date is Saturday October 16th and the time is from 1-8pm. So, save the date and we’ll give you more details soon.

It WAS a good event last year. Strange that it was so freakishly cold.

A friend and I took our dogs down there last year.  The weather was great the atmosphere was really chill. There were some cool vendors there too.  I bought a Holly Aiken “trick or treat” bag and carried it everyday ‘til Halloween as purse.  I hope this year it is a great success.  I wish Raleigh had more ‘neighborhood-y’ event like this.

I just moved back to Raleigh, near Cooke St. When I met the new neighbors, this event was one of the first things she told me about the neighborhood.  Looking forward to it!  What is the significance of “Fatt-legg”?
