Cooke Street Carnival will return for a third year on Saturday, October 15th, 2011 from 1-6pm. As in previous years, the day festival will happen on Cooke Street, between Lane and Jones Street just East of Historic Oakwood in Downtown Raleigh.
This year's theme will be The Sideshow, playing up the fact that the event is literally a sideshow each year to the NC State Fair. The event will feature Circus Freaks and other nostalgic carnival antics, so bring your own circus freak costume and you'll fit right in. Details are still being worked out but there are already a handful of bands and artists on board for the day's festivities.
If there are any interested Art or Food Vendors, please go to the website and pay the registration fee or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and ask any question you'd like about this year's event. You can also donate money to the carnival on the website as well. You can also find Cooke Street Carnival on Facebook.
Disclaimer: I am one of the organizers of this event. All proceeds from each year's event go to host the next year's event.
