Schoolkids Move Info, Annuals to Play New Store

As we recently reported, Schoolkids is moving just up the street on Hillsborough to a new store location. The new space is between Sadlack’s Heroes and Buddha’s Belly.

A fresh start is usually a nice thing but many have been wondering about in-store concerts at the new space. Would the new space have room? The answer is that it will definitely have a good amount of room for bands to perform. When I spoke with manager Brad Cook about it, he stated that for some odd reason, Buddha’s Belly already had a stage built into the space and therefore they will have a permanent structure for bands to perform on. When it’s not being used as a stage, roll shelves will cover it.

The old store will be closed on January 25 to move all that fabulous music and will reopen the next day, Monday January 26.

Also, to celebrate the opening of the new space, the store will have two special in-store performances on the previously mentioned stage, Annuals and Dexter Romweber Duo. Dex will be right at home and can play a set at Sadlack’s afterwards….maybe Annuals would do the same because the store will be packed for that one.

February 2 at 6pm - Annuals
February 10 at 6pm - Dexter Romweber Duo

The new address will be 2114 Hillsborough St. Now, you can grab a sandwich, stock up on new music, and check out some groovy, psychedelic t-shirts and such, all in the same shopping center! There’s even parking in the front AND the back.

Sounds like a good move as it’ll provide an opportunity to do some hanging out around it’s complementary neighbors (as mentioned).
