(NOTE - Video above has audio)

It has been just over two weeks since the Shimmer Wall started construction and it looks like it should be 99% complete by the weekend.

That’s the sexiest tree in Raleigh.

I think this calls for some ‘shrooms.

It’s pretty awesome to see this thing coming together.  I’ve always thought it was a cool idea.  I didn’t realize it would be so awesome once put into motion.

Does anyone know what the site plan is for the block immediately adjacent to the west of the CC?  Is that where the rumored amplitheater is going?  Here’s to hoping it’s open space of some sort as a big building would block the view of the wall there.

    Jim,
That is the space where the amphitheater will be. Here is more from gogoraleigh.

Drive by it everyday and to see it shimmer is so cool! Great great work of art.

When the whole thing is complete and the backlights/LED’s are put into place, the facade is just going to pop!  I can only imagine that any Raleigh ‘money shot’ that the city publishes is going to have this in place.

As a public art piece, this has been a quiet phenomenon compared to the whole Plensa fiasco.  I love it.

    Peace
