The group Capitol City Five will celebrate its 66th anniversary this Sunday at St. Matthew Church in Raleigh, for free, starting at 4pm. The Indepedent’s thoroughly informing piece (along with exclusive audio) can be found here.
Capitol City Five have been performing in this area for 66 years. The longevity says a lot about the impact they have on those that know and the impact they could have on those willing to listen. Fans of Gospel will not be disappointed. They are the real deal. Along for the ride are seven other groups, ranging from Carla & Redemption out of Lumberton to the Branchettes from Benson. If you’re free on Sunday, The Capitol City Five will be waiting.
