The past two weeks have been full of Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater news with concerts being announced almost daily. Today brings another concert announcement, The Slightly Stoopid Legalize It Tour featuring Cypress Hill and Collie Buddz will roll its way through town, along with a good amount of joints, on Wednesday July 28th. Cypress Hill released their eighth studio album Rise-Up yesterday, rightfully on 4/20.
Comparing this schedule with the other Live Nation booked pavilion in town (Time Warner), it’s easy to see that these are shows that wouldn’t sell as many tickets at the big tent. Downtown is seemingly getting the leftovers, which is a standard of most of the Live Nation venues around the country. Luckily, as mentioned before, there are hundreds of other dates that will be booked at the Amphitheater by (hopefully) local venues and groups.
Tickets will go on sale May 1st.
06/06 - Backstreet Boys
07/23 - Paramore, Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory
07/25 - Shinedown, Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd, Sevendust, 10 Years
07/28 - The Slightly Stoopid Legalize It Tour featuring Cypress Hill and Collie Buddz
08/10 - O.A.R., Citizen Cope
08/25 - Sound Tribe Sector 9
09/18 - Black Crowes
TBA - Heart

more crap
#srsly. Thinking of #commandeering this venue
Slightly Stoopid is actually pretty good. They’re kind of like Sublime. In fact, Bradley Nowell signed them. I’ve also seen Cypress Hill live before and they put on a good show. I think I’m going to go to this.
they should have announced this yesterday on 4/20
this is getting ridiculous.
What is getting ridiculous is the amount of complaining going on by people who are sitting on their asses in front of a computer.
stop bitching.
lol someone bitching on the internet about bitching on the internet.
I am sorry to those of you who like Slightly Stoopid but I can’t get behind that incredibly stupid name :(.
bmcclain is just upset it’s not NKOTB….
cypress hill is good though i wouldnt mind seeing them but all the other acts… no no no. if they get nsync then they need to burn down this place lol
Slightly Stoopid is awesome live! Saw them in Sacramento one year, can’t wait to see them again
Dude, I’m just gonna go chill with the bros and light one up. I don’t know what Slightly Stoopid Sing about, but I’m pretty sure it has to do with getting high. Deep shit, man. Not to mention, there’ll be some dope honeys there. DOWNTOWN GET CHILL
At least the only Saturday spot they have used up is for the Black Crowes. Definitely the only one worth a Saturday spot. I think it will take a little while for the venue to work into bands tour schedules. Currently looks as though we are getting the leftovers. Would you book a spot for a place that hasn’t even come close to finishing construction yet? I for one am very happy to have the venue here, even if I only go periodically to the bands I like. Hopefully some local promoters will get in on the gig soon. Localpalooza anyone?
Alrightttt, we’re gettin’ there.
That should work out perfectly right across from the RPD building!
This venue doesn’t exist as of yet. Just remember that when considering the booking. I am amazed that Raleigh went through with it and its actually opening. The better bands will come once they realize it exists, learn about the acoustics and crowds, and it gets on the promotional radar. Give it time.
And by the way….bmmclain will be up in sniper position with a classic NKOTB denim jacket (complete with concert patches) waiting to take a clean shot during the Backstreet encore!
Way to give up my location AND what I’ll be wearing…
the Black Crowes played the Lincoln theater for less than a 1,000. now they’re going to bring in 7K without Jimmy Page - at an outdoor venue that will be surrounded by RPD.
We want Pomplamoose!
haha you people are really lame. can’t wait to go to this, already got tickets..those damn kids and their dope smokin!
They are great live! check out this review from the OC show http://www.theliveoc.com/concert-reviews/179-slightly-stoopid-cypress-hill-concert-review.html
